Get Paid To Take Atlanta Students’ Temperatures This Upcoming School Year

With a grant from WorkSource Cobb, Georgia’s Marietta City School System will hire those who’ve lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic to work this upcoming school year.

The school system is looking to hire about 50 people for a full-time position to take students’ temperature before they get on the school bus and enter the school.

“We want to help our community get back to work; we need our community to help us reopen schools,” said Superintendent Grant Rivera.

This position will be paid $12 per hour with shift hours running from 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Employees will also assist in delivering breakfasts and lunches throughout the school day since social distancing practices will be in place and students won’t be able to eat in the lunchroom.

The qualifications include being Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act eligible, passing a background check, being able to communicate effectively in both writing and speech, ability to lift up to 20 pounds and attend a two-hour training before starting. Applications can be submitted online through Marietta City Schools.
