Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci turns himself in to face murder charge after dropping music video

YFN Lucci, an Atlanta rapper who was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting last month, turned himself into authorities just hours after dropping a new music video online.

The 29-year-old musician, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, was being held Thursday in Fulton County Jail, Atlanta police told CNN. Earlier this week, authorities announced he’d been wanted for felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in street gang activity and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The charges stem from an incident that unfolded on Dec. 10 in southwest Atlanta. Officers were responding to reports of a person shot when they discovered 28-year-old James Adams laying in the road, suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to authorities.

In the audio of a 911 call, obtained by TMZ, a woman reported seeing a white SUV race by “with a man hanging out of the car.” She says she eventually saw him get shoved from the side of the vehicle and out onto the ground.

Bennett surrendered to authorities on Wednesday before 11 p.m. — but not before releasing his new music video, “Rolled On,” on YouTube. He has also shared the clip on his Twitter and Instagram pages.

The rapper is also known for songs including “Everyday We Lit,” “Wet” and “Key to the Streets.”

Another two suspects are also in custody for the shootings.
